Dr. Mohit Bansal

Dr. Mohit Bansal is a Consultant Ophthalmologist, specialising in vitreo-retina, uvea and phaco surgery. He is attached to the Bansal Eye Hospital in Ambala, and also visits the Life Care Masonic Charitable Eye Hospital in Chandigarh and the PD Memorial Chauhan Eye Hospital in Kurukshetra. Earlier in his career, Dr. Bansal was attached to Sadguru Netralaya as a Consultant in Retina and Uvea.

Dr. Bansal has an MBBS from the Government Medical College, Chandigarh, and an MS in Ophthalmology from the Post Graduate Institute of Medical Education and Research (PGIMER), also in Chandigarh. In addition, he completed a comprehensive fellowship in ophthalmology with special training in vitreo-retina surgery and uvea in Chitrakoot, and underwent advanced training in retina and uvea from Sankara Nethralaya, Chennai.

Dr. Bansal is proficient in a wide range of ophthalmic procedures, having performed more than 1,000 complex retinal surgeries, including retinal detachment, diabetic vitrectomy, macular hole, ERM removal, vitreous haemorrhage, foreign body removal, etc. He has vast surgical experience in cataract surgery, having performed over 10,000 such procedures.

In his academic endeavours, Dr. Mohit Bansal has contributed with articles, papers and research-based works. His paper presentations and other efforts have won him several awards. He has presented his scientific work in various international and national conferences such as the Asia Pacific Academy of Ophthalmology, Asia Pacific Vitreo-Retina Conference, World Ophthalmic Conference, VRSI, All India Ophthalmic Society Conference, etc. He has also participated as faculty at various national conferences, especially in connection with his work on the common retinal disease "Central Serous Retinopathy". Dr. Bansal has also trained many students pursuing their MS, DNB, optometry and diploma studies. Besides being a life member of many ophthalmic societies, he has been honoured by Rotary International in the field of community ophthalmology.
